Update On Nevada’s Proposed Heat Illness Regulations

Volume: 21 | Issue: 1
January 3, 2022

The Nevada Division of Industrial Relations of the Department of Business and Industry (“Division”) will conduct a stakeholder’s meeting on January 7, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to discuss its proposed heat illness regulations and answer questions. The Division has also issued Frequently Asked Questions about the proposed rules.

As we explained in September, the Division seeks to adopt new permanent rules to require Nevada employers to mitigate occupational injuries and illnesses resulting from heat exposure in the workplace. We encourage you to review the proposed rules and the FAQs. If you have objections to the proposed rules, please attend the January 7 meeting. You can attend by using this link.

KZA has provided feedback on the proposed regulations to the Division and will also attend the January meeting. If you have questions about this matter, please contact a KZA attorney.
