Volume: 20 | Issue: 61
September 21, 2021

Nevada’s Occupational Safety & Health Administration (NV OSHA) has updated its Inspection Targeting Plan and Emphasis Programs. This document sets forth the agency’s primary focus for on-site inspections and includes the construction industry and the manufacturing industry.

Moreover, NV OSHA details its National Emphasis Programs, which include COVID-19 inspections for the health care industry pursuant to the Emergency Temporary Standard effective June 28, 2021, and inspections pursuant to the agency’s Local Emphasis Programs, which include the following industries: Warehousing and Storage; Nursing in Residential Care Facilities; Hotels; Casino-Hotels; General Auto Repair; Automotive Body, Paint, and Interior Repair and Maintenance; Industrial Launderers and Linen Supply; and Shooting Ranges.

If your industry is listed by NV OSHA under these programs, you should expect inspections. The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) offers free and confidential assistance to help employers prepare for a NV OSHA inspection.
