NV OSHA Issues Guidance On Mitigating Workplace Violence In Medical Facilities

Volume: 22 | Issue: 9
March 2, 2023

Nevada’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (NV OSHA) has released a detailed guidance outlining adequate controls to mitigate workplace violence in medical facilities and addressing a medical facility’s  duty to report incidents of workplace violence to NV OSHA. The guidance is designed to help employers comply with Nevada law requiring medical facilities to develop and maintain workplace violence plans.

Medical facility employers, including hospitals, agencies that provide nursing in the home, independent centers for emergency medical care, facilities for intermediate care, facilities for skilled nursing, facilities for modified medical detoxification, and community triage centers, should carefully review this new guidance from NV OSHA.
