During the 83rd Session of the Nevada Legislature, Assembly Bill 215 was passed to strengthen Nevada’s child labor laws. AB 215 required the Nevada Labor Commissioner to prepare an abstract of the revised child labor laws for employers to post in the workplace. That posting is now available on the Labor Commissioner’s website in English and Spanish and should be posted by all Nevada employers.

As a supplement to federal child labor laws, Nevada now restricts a child under the age of 16 from working more than 40 hours in any one week. Additionally, any unemancipated high school student between 16 and 19 years of age is prohibited from working between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am on school nights, with certain exceptions. These changes to Nevada law became effective on October 1, 2025.
