Nevada COVID-19 Update

Volume: 19 | Issue: 75
December 14, 2020

The Nevada COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force met last week. All counties in Nevada, except Storey County, have been flagged for elevated disease transmission. Given the statewide pause in place since November 24, the meeting focused on updates from agencies such as NV OSHA, the Nevada Hospital Association, and the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.

Yesterday, Governor Sisolak extended the statewide pause through January 15, 2021. Explaining his reasoning in detail, the Governor called upon the federal government for additional local and state funding and closed his remarks by informing the public that a “Nevadan[] is testing positive for COVID every 40 seconds. . . . And every hour and 15 minutes, a Nevadan dies from COVID.”
