KZA Attorneys Publish Article On Hiring Preferences

Volume: 21 | Issue: 33
August 3, 2022

We are proud to announce that Scott Abbott and Kaitlin Paxton have published an article in the July issue of the Nevada Lawyer entitled “Committed to Diversity: Using Hiring Preferences Cautiously.” The Nevada Lawyer is a publication of the State Bar of Nevada.

Scott and Kaitlin address the tension between initiatives designed to increase diversity in a workforce and the rights of other individuals to be free from discrimination. They review the U.S. Supreme Court’s current position on affirmative action programs as well as what Nevada law has to say on this matter. We invite you to review their article.

Also, keep an eye out for upcoming information on this topic as the U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear two cases on affirmative action this fall. In the meantime, if you have questions about hiring preferences, please contact a KZA attorney.
