Congratulations to Universal Plumbing on its recent union election victory! On September 9, 2022, the plumbers and apprentices at Universal Plumbing voted 14 to 1 against union representation.

Universal Plumbing is a plumbing and heating contractor that has been operating non-union in Las Vegas for over sixty 60 years. In July, UA Local 525 filed a petition seeking to represent the company’s plumbers and apprentices. The company was able to conduct a successful campaign against the union, securing an overwhelming vote in favor of management.

Kamer Zucker Abbott is proud of Gregg Kamer and Dare Heisterman for their work on Universal Plumbing’s behalf in this matter. Working with knowledgeable and experienced labor counsel during a union campaign is critical, as is being prepared for a campaign before it starts. KZA’s attorneys are well-versed in this area and can help you develop union avoidance strategies and policies, prepare your workplace and supervisors for a campaign, and vigorously defend your rights during a campaign.
