DOL Publishes Additional COVID-19 Guidance

Volume: 19 | Issue: 41
July 21, 2020

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) just announced the release of additional guidance for employers and employees on how the requirements and protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) impact the workplace as businesses reopen. The WHD states: “The new guidance provides plain-language questions and answers addressing critical issues under all three laws.”

The DOL had already posted questions and answers on all three of these laws, but new questions and answers have been added to the FLSA and FMLA topics. The new questions are dated July 20, 2020.
