Deadline For Federal Contractor Vaccine Mandate Extended To January 4

November 8, 2021

Late last week, President Biden announced that the deadline for the workers of federal contractors and subcontractors to receive their final COVID-19 vaccination dose has been extended to January 4, 2022.

As you know, federal contractors are subject to the President’s September Executive Order requiring them to ensure all employees are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless they are legally entitled to an accommodation. The original vaccination deadline of December 8 has been extended to January 4 in order to create consistency between the Executive Order and the Emergency Temporary Standard issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration last week for large employers.
