County COVID-19 Action Plans Approved By Task Force

Volume: 19 | Issue: 52
August 21, 2020

Yesterday, the new COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force met to review the action plans of the counties flagged for having an elevated risk of COVID-19 transmission. The Task Force reviewed and approved the action plans of Lander, Humboldt, Elko, Nye, Washoe, and Clark counties. According to the Task Force’s press release, some of the counties, such as Clark, will continue the closures of bars, pubs, taverns, breweries, distilleries, and wineries. It is not clear, however, whether bar tops and bar areas in restaurants and food establishments in these counties can reopen.

A brief summary of each county’s plan can be found in yesterday’s press release; additionally, you can access some of the action plans as well as a report by NV OSHA on its enforcement statistics by visiting the Task Force’s web page and looking at the August 20 materials listed under “Meeting Agendas and Supporting Documents.”

Unfortunately, the information presently available is very murky. We are hopeful that the Task Force and/or the counties will publish clearer and more specific direction for employers as soon as possible.
