OSHA Issues Information On COVID-19 Inspections

In an effort to help employers protect workers and increase compliance with COVID-19 requirements, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued guidance on which standards are most frequently cited during COVID-19 related inspections. Two new documents have been published by the federal OSHA: a document that details common citations employers have received from OSHA inspections; and a list of which standards are most frequently violated by employers. We encourage all employers to review these documents.

While NV OSHA has not yet published similar information as to Nevada inspections, employers can learn which industries and regions are showing lower than average compliance with COVID-19 requirements by reviewing the reports filed with Nevada’s COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force. For example, the most recent NV OSHA report concludes that construction, convenience stores, and bars are showing lower than average compliance, and that for the week of October 28, Las Vegas employers had lower than average compliance with COVID-19 standards.
