KZA's Next Management Workshop Slated For March 2017

Topic: Leave Of Absence Management For Employers

Volume 16, Issue 1
February 7, 2017

Managing employee leaves of absence remains one of the most challenging issues employers confront on a regular basis. Between the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Nevada's worker's compensation laws, there are often competing and different compliance standards for an employer to navigate. Making a mistake in this area can prove costly, as agencies such as the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission have increased their scrutiny and investigation of employers.

In this Workshop, we will address common leave of absence issues employers face. Through sample scenarios we will discuss what documentation an employer may require, what can be done about insufficient documentation, how to deal with non-compliant employees and health care providers, requests for extensions of leave time, reinstatement and every employer's favorite subject - intermittent leave.

This Workshop is complimentary for all current KZA clients and available to non-clients for a nominal, prepaid registration fee of $25.00. Refreshments will be provided.

Please watch for further announcements soon on the date and location for this Workshop.
